• When i create a manual order and i click calculate total and calculate tax, it always adds the tax on top of the price. I have set prices to be inclusive of the tax inside the WooCommerce settings, so why is this not being reflected?

Am i missunderstanding how manual orders work or how tax is added?

Why is the calculate tax button there if it adds tax on top of the price?

Does the Prices Entered With Tax setting have no affect when creating a manual order?

Im confused about these because the WC interface does not tell me and i can’t find a clear answer in the documentation, if anyone who knows these answers could help me or link to the relevant documentation that would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

I read the documentation for managing orders but unfortantly it does not talk about the Calculate tax button, and how it works, and if there needs to be special consideration.

The reason im worried about this is because im trying to send a customer an email with a link to pay for a subscription with their credit card and have it work with auto renewals, and i need the invoice and email to print the tax correctly for legal purposes, and im just trying to test it out first because i remember reading in the Subscriptions documentation that you cannot create a manual order with auto renewals, but i think that the documentation needs to be re-written on that part because I’m not clear if what im doing is going to work or not, and i dont want to switch over to a test gateway and use test credit cards to make sure it all works, i wish i could just read the answer some where.

Don’t know if this is it, but “Price entered with tax” causes WooCommerce to calculate the pre-tax price using the tax rate for the shop base address. There can be only one pre-tax price. If tax is set to “customer billing address”, which may have a different tax rate, then it needs to be recalculated.
