Manual insertion on specific posts not working and ads appearing randomly!

    I’m having a couple of problems with the plugin regarding ads not appearing where I want them and appearing where I don’t want them to! Firstly, the feature to manually insert ads on specific pages isn’t working. If I add a text block with the ad code into a post it doesn’t work. I checked out the help pages and did a test to see if the ad block is recognized and it isn’t. I’m assuming this is an issue with the theme I’m using, but wondered if there was a solution, as I’m missing out on potential revenue on longer posts that I have. The other problem is that I have ads appearing all over my site in places they supposedly shouldn’t be. My settings are for ads to appear on posts, and individually enabled on static pages. I haven’t individually enabled ads for my homepage, for example, but I have ads appearing there! The same for other pages. They are also appearing randomly on my Blog homepage, right on top of text excerpts so you can’t read some of the text – I can send screenshots if you like. Many thanks for any help!

    I found only code for AdSense Auto ads.
    AdSense Auto ads is a code that you insert on every page once (normally in the header) and it will automatically display AdSense ads on positions chosen by the code. Auto ads use Google’s machine learning to pick the best placements on your pages to show ads.

    Therefore your ads are not placed by the plugin but by the code for Auto ads (hence the name).

    If you want to have control over ads and to be able to specify exact locations where the code (and ads) should be inserted you need to use codes for normal ad units.

    Thanks so much for the prompt reply! Not sure what’s going on here. When I set up adsense I got a code that I inserted in the section “HTML Page header code” of the Ad Inserter Plugin. Then I created different Ad Units in adsense (as per your tutorial), and added the code for each into different code blocks of the plugin. For each block I selected where I wanted the ad to appear. These ads are working on my posts and appearing where I want them too. So I’m confused as to why these are working if the plugin isn’t placing them? Is Auto Ads overriding on static pages? Is the original Adsense code I placed in the page header code incorrect?

    What you have configured in blocks should be inserted.
    But code for Auto ads will insert additional ads.

    Hi, thanks. I’ve figured it all out and got everything working as it should! I disabled the auto ads in Adsense, and for manual inseertion to work properly I realised I needed to set up a new ad block with automatic insertion disabled, insertion individually enabled for posts and the shortcode option enabled too. All works perfectly!
