    Before I updated my plugin this page was working correctly and pulling my manual excerpts from each of my posts. Now after updating to the latest version today it seems to ignore my manual excerpts I wrote within each post and it instead will only show the automatically generated excerpts based on the first X number of characters (with X being the number selected in the block settings).

    I believe it has to be an issue with this AB block itself as it relates to the excerpts, because my manual excerpts still show up fine in other places where I’m not using this block, such as https://wizardofads.org/category/marketing-strategy/

    Any ideas as to how to fix this?

  • @jakewoa Thanks for reaching out! We did make some changes to the way excerpts work in the latest version, so it’s possible this is a bug.

    I tried replicating the problem by adding a new Post and Page Grid block, and it was definitely pulling through the Custom Excerpts that I have defined.

    Are you using the Post Grid block to show your posts? Could you post a screenshot of your block settings, and the result?

    Thanks for following up. Yes, the good news is that I was able to generate a new Post Grid block from scratch with identical settings to the old one and the new Post Grid blocks worked great. Even publishing the two blocks side by side in my tests the original Post Grid block that went through the plugin update still showed the buggy auto-generated excerpts. But the new Post Grid block I generated today worked great and showed the manual excerpts.

    In short, I went and deleted all the Post Grid blocks and then replaced them with new ones from scratch and everything is now working fine again. So whatever bug happened was unique to the process of updating an old instance of the block during the plugin upgrade.

    Hope that clarifies things if it happens to another user.
