  • To disable this feature just add “doNotHash:true” line to ShareThis script tag code containing publisher key on your site page.
Below is the example of the script tag:

    <script type=”text/javascript”>stLight.options({publisher: “INSERTYOURPUBKEY”, doNotHash:true, doNotCopy:true,hashAddressBar:false});</script>
(make sure to fill in your pub key).

You can know more about sharethis CopyNShare from here –

What I’m confused about though is I don’t have the plugin installed any longer, how could this still be happening? Where do I get this pub key? I want everything removed, the plugin included.

In that case, please provide your site URL on which you are getting the .dpfu URL.. so that we can investigate it further.

Meanwhile, please check in your site code, I below code is present or not –
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://w.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js"></script>

If yes, then please remove it.

It’s def showing up in my footer, but I’ve looked in the all the obvious places, and can’t see how this is being added.

I’m using the pagelines DMS2 theme.

It’s not in my custom scripts section.
It’s not in my footer.php section.
I’m not aware of any footer script plugins.

Sometimes other installed Plugins captures ShareThis code when they are active. You can check this by disabling all the installed Plugins and then check after clearing browser cookies/cache whether you get the same result or not.

The code which is still present in your site code is –

    <script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://w.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js?ver=4.0′></script&gt;

Is there a more scientific way to do this? Disabling all plugins and then testing can take a long time.

    Is there another way?

    -r

There is no other way. As we cannot determine which Plugin will capture and save the ShareThis code.

I found which plugin it is, Digg Digg … how do I fix this now?

    -r

We haven’t came across the Digg Digg Plugin issue and not a single user reported it. If you have access to your site code, like your WordPress php files, then you can check it your end. Or we suggest you to contact your site admin or developer to help you out.

I am my developer, I had to turn off the e-mail option in digg digg which requires sharethis API.

We are not clear, can you please elaborate. If anything is wrong at our end, it will help us while rectifying the issue.

You can close this request, turning OFF the e-mail option for share this in DiggDigg repaired this. It’s this setting here: https://take.ms/5XwDl
