Is there a way in WooCommerce to manually approve a digital download once a previous purchase has been approved?

To explain, I have some digital files that I made for someone else’s product and have permission to give the files away only to those who have purchased the original product. Once the customer has “purchased” the item, they’ll need to send me their proof of purchase. I’ll then need to verify the purchase before manually approving the download.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @riggsdp ,

Thanks for your question, this is an interesting approach. To answer, you can manually approve digital downloads in WooCommerce. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Set your digital product to be “Virtual” but not “Downloadable” in the product data section.
    2. After a customer orders, they should share their proof of purchase with you, perhaps through a customer note or email.
    3. Once you verify the purchase manually, go to the order in your WooCommerce dashboard.
    4. Use the “Grant access” button to provide a download link to the customer.

This way, downloads are only available after you’ve confirmed they’re eligible.

Hope this helps you manage your digital purchases.
