If I cancel an order that was ordered by prepayment (stock will be reduced at checkout), the stock will be replenished correctly. If I now send a “save order and send email” “cancelled”, the stock is reduced again as if I had never cancelled. Status remains to reduced, of course.
Similar problem with an unpaid PayPal Checkout, here the stock is only reduced when the payment process is finished.
So if a PayPal order listed as “pending payment” is manually cancelled by me, the system reduces the stock when sending the info mail to the user.
This was not the case until mid-November, I can’t say exactly which version ran until then, but I did some updates in between.
These bugs can be found in the 4.7.0 as well as in the 4.7.1
    Both run under WP 5.5.3

  • Hi there!

    Thanks for reaching out!

I can’t replicate the issue on my test site with the latest WooCommerce core.

Can you please share a screenshot of the order notes for a few affected orders?

Hi Elvira K, thx for answering, sorry for the delay.
I have found how to reproduce it on my system.
When a customer completes an order with bank transfer/advance payment, the system reduces the stock by the ordered quantity.
Now when I manually cancel the order, the stock is correctly raised again by the value of the order. If I now press the actualize button a second time in order/actions, the stock is reduced again. Pressing the button a third time has no effect anymore.

    Hi there @weirdoz,

Thanks for getting back to us!

Can you please advise which action is that exactly? I have only the following actions on my site:

Can you please share a screenshot of yours? Can this action be added by another plugin?

Yes, it‘s exactly that button. You can also press it without choosing any action.
