    Hi

I recently migrated all my clients sites to a new server. Since the migration, I can no longer do a manual backup of 3 of those sites, although the scheduled backups all appear to work fine. I don’t have any problems with the backups on the other sites, and they are all on the same server.

When I click the backup button, the loading icon animation shows, but no progress bar ever appears. In some cases it shows a success message, but no new backup appears in the Existing Backups list.

I’ve tried re-installing Updraft Plus on these sites, re-connecting to the remote storage drive (Google Drive), and deleting old backups. Deleting an old backup does allow me to manually backup once, but then the problem reoccurs. I have plenty of storage in my Google Drive, so its not running out of space.

I can’t figure out why this is only happening on 3 out of 10 of my client sites, and why its only with manual backups.

The log file from one of these sites just shows this:

    0000.000 (0) Opened log file at time: Tue, 24 May 2022 04:42:31 +0000 on https://xxxxxxxxx.com

Any idea what the issue might be?

    Thanks for your help!

    Debbie

    Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the latest full backup log?

This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi Bryle

The log from the last successful backup is here: https://pastebin.com/8D9zLxe2

    Hi Debbie,

That is showing a successful message. As you were saying only manual backups fail, correct? If so, can you send me a copy of the log for the failed backup?

    Thanks,
    Bryle

Hi Bryle – the log for a failed backup is included in my first post. That’s what I get when I click on “Download most recently modified log file” after attempting a manual backup.

The failed backups don’t show under the Existing Backups, so I’m not sure where else I’m supposed to get the log file from?

    Hi Debbie,

If that’s all the content in the log, then it appears that the backup is killed off even before the process could start. Please ask your host/server admin if they are blocking the process.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

Hi Bryle – yes, that’s the entire log file. Other websites on the same server backup just fine, which wouldn’t be the case if the host was blocking the process.

And it doesn’t explain why, if I delete one of the existing backups, the manual backup then works (but only the once).

There does seem to be something else going on.

    Hi Debbie,

Could you ask your hosts for your php error logs?

    Hi vupdraft

Sorry for the delay in replying. Nothing is being logged in the php error log, although I have tested the log and it is working correctly.

    Any other ideas?

    Debbie
