Hey. While this plugin looks interesting I am astonished that listed as a premium feature is the ability to manually approve registrations! Is this a mistake?

From your description on the WordPress plugin page:
    “PREMIUM ADD-ONS
UsersWP can be extended with several add-ons. Few examples are:
    * Moderation – Lets you manually approve or reject user signups.”

This doesn’t make sense. I’ve never seen the ability to moderate who joins set up as a paid feature.

    Hi @ms416,

I am not really sure what the question is here so let me explain the features:

Registration options included in UWP core:

    • Auto Approve – (just like normal WP functionality)
    • Auto Approve + Auto Login – (like above except it will auto log the user in also)
    • Require Email Activation – requires that the user click a special link in their email before they can use their account.
    • Force redirect to redirect page – this will redirect the user to a page after registration.

The option added by that addon will hold the user in a queue and they will not be able to login until the site owner accepts or rejects their registration, this will also send them a specific email explaining the decision.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi,

I’m sorry but I clearly stated that manual approval seemed to be an omission and that I was surprised that you make this part of a paid add-on.

The ability to control the application process is important. I find admin approval is part of the free version of the following plugins:

User Registration plugin “Admin approval option for registration”
Ultimate Member plugin: “You can allow users to be auto-approved, require email activation or be manually approved by the admin”

You seem to only allow auto approval so this plugin’s functionality is too limited.

    Hi,

Thanks for your feedback, when we first created UWP im pretty sure ultimate member had this as a paid option also. I’ll review things on Monday with the team and see if this is something we want to move to core.
    I will keep you posted.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
