• After setting up my FB app per the install guide when I go to authorise the app I get a message from FB that

    “Submit for Login Review
Some of the permissions below have not been approved for use by Facebook.
Submit for review now or learn more.

<my app name> will receive the following info: your public profile, email address and Timeline posts.”

I then click on OK and get a message that

“<my app name> would like to post to Facebook for you.
Who do you want to share these posts with?
    Friends”

I click OK and then get asked

“<my app name> would like to manage your Pages and publish as Pages you manage.
    Choose what you allow”

I click on OK and then get returned to my blog with an error message that

“Unable to authorize the facebook application. Please check your curl/fopen and firewall settings.”

fopen is enabled in php, the actual issue I think is that the FB app now needs to be mandatorily reviewed by FB because of the access rights that it wants.

I had a look at submitting my app for review and it’s full on/agonising what they want to know.

When you start the process they want to know the specific access rights the app needs. I’m guessing the additional rights are

publish_actions – which is for “Timeline posts”
manage_pages – which is for “Manage your Pages”
user_posts – which is for “Publish as Pages you manage”

The process then asks you to fill in a crazy amount of detail about each access right including screen videos and a stack of other stuff.

Maybe this is a new change and you guys have all been FB developers for some time, but I only became a FB developer tonight and it’s a HUGE PITA and I have no idea how to fill in some of the info FB wants.

    Help!

    Many thanks,
    A.
