managing monthly editions of magazine

Hi,

As this is a magazine theme, I want to achieve the functionality of having monthly editions like the other magazines have.

I want something like, only the current month’s post should be displayed on the homepage and for the rest of the content, we can navigate in some other way like by specific author or category.

Want to filter the content by monthly editions.

Please suggest how to achieve this.
