Managing FSE templates

I love FSE, templates, etc. However, the inability to manage templates is a big problem.
Create a new template & the only option is to name it Front Page (and it becomes the home page?). Can’t delete templates. Can’t duplicate them. Can’t rename. All of these are basic tasks WP does elsewhere.
Is this coming soon, am I missing something, or is this just a problem that will make using FSE more of a pain in the tush than it needs to be? At this rate, as I learn FSE, I’m going to end up with a bunch of useless & unused templates.
