• While using the upload interface in MCE and using images frequently in blog entries – there is quickly a large amount of images.

To be able to reuse already uploaded images browsing must be made easier. It would be positive to be able to browse by file names alone – enabling more files to be browsed on every page.

It would also help, alot, to be able to search uploaded files/images by file names.

  • Yes. I desperately need something like this. Having a search option for all previously uploaded images would be wonderful.

May be this could be a plugin or simply a version release.

Is there anyone else who needs this?

I think 2.2’s going to have something. It’s currently in the wp.com code. You click on the image and up comes a summery page with the link information.

    Hope this helps,

drmike, what I need is to be able to search (filename, description, tag etc.) and find an image that I had uploaded long time ago.

Once I find it, what you say (or I understand it that way) works. I.e. click on the image and “do stuff with it”.

I really hope some version close in time will have a search option.

It is quite useless trying to browse thousands of images trying to find already uploaded images.

I have been trying to find a plugin that solves this shortcoming. But with no result. Seems like it shouldn’t be so hard correcting it?

But i may be in a minority considering this a serious flaw?
