    Hello,
It is obviously not possible to calculate the price based on weight without plugins. Therefore, I made a workaround and created several variations (2kg, 4kg and 6kg). You can also enter the weight for each variation, which works for the packaging calculation. And if you don’t set up a stock for the variations, the stock of the single product is used.

So you could say instead of 100 units I have 100 kg.

But if a variation (6kg for example) is purchased, only one will be removed from inventory. Is there a way to change that? A multiplier, for example, so that 6×1 unit is removed? Or a workaround for this problem?

I think this will be of interest to many who sell by weight

    Hey @shixx01,

    What a clever workaround. ??

I understand that you want to adjust the stock quantity based on the weight of the product variation sold. Unfortunately, WooCommerce doesn’t have this feature built-in.

A custom solution would be required to achieve what you’re looking for. In this case, you can seek help from the following:

As an alternative, I recommend a plugin that can handle this functionality, such as the WooCommerce Stock Manager or Stock Manager for WooCommerce. This plugin allows you to manage stock for products and their variables from one screen. You could use this to adjust the stock manually based on the weight sold.

You can also use the Variation Shared Inventory for WooCommerce plugin. It allows you to manage inventory and share stock among variations.

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get the job done.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
