Manage > Akismet Spam yield 500 Internal Server Error on 2.0.7

  • I hadn’t cleared Akismet spam for a couple of days, so I just went in to clear the 1827 items and got a 500 internal server error when I did so.

    I upgraded to 2.0.7 today, and two days ago added the following plugins (which I have since deactivated in the troubleshooting process):

    Click Counter
    Google Sitemaps
    WP-Email
    WP-OnlineCounter
    WP-Print

    I noticed that the Google Sitemaps plugin was causing my RSS feed to also yield HTTP 500 errors, but deactivating that plugin resolved the feed problem.

    The rest of the administration site, as well as the front end blog, work just fine.

    Any clues as to what’s up?

    Oddly enough, I was able to fix the error by temporarily activating PHP 5.x on that server. However, that also broke some plugins, so I restored it to PHP 4.x and was still able to click on the Manage > Akismet Spam link, however it is not known if the problem will return once Akismet starts catching more spam.
