• Okey, here is the thing, I have WordPress 2.0.5, and Im happy with it.. The thing is, when I make a new categorie and post a new post in it, it also appears in the “main categorie/frontpage”, and I dont want it to do that..

Ive tried to check in the box in the “categories section” in “Write post”, and it still doesnt work..

Soo, what am I supposed to do? Appreciate all the help I can get.. Thanks!

  • I am not sure I understand your question. Every blog’s main page (index, homepage) will display ALL the posts from every category.

Or if I misunderstood your question, give an example what are you talking about.

No you didnt misunderstand, so there is no way I can make posts in only the specific categorie without it showing on the blogs main page..? ??

The thing is, I wanted a categorie where I could post my youtube clips and so on without it showing on the main page.. ??

Oh, and please please consider upgrading, at least to WordPress version 2.0.11.

Oh well, might as well upgrade it..

Is there any dummie guide that will help me upgrade from 2.0.5 to 2.3?

    This might help:

(check plugin and theme compatibilities… also the Template_Tags – some have been deprecated since 2.1)

The upgrade was a success, thanks for the help guys!

    Glad to hear that ??

Hi – I have a similar question. I’m using WP 2.3.1 and want to have a page — one that is NOT my home page — display just ONE category of content. So for example, the home page may have a series of posts that include photos on one occasion, plain text another, videos another. But then I’d like to have a separate page inside the site that JUST displays the posts that i’ve marked as being in the photos category, a second page just for videos, etc. Have looked around at the plugins list but am not yet finding quite the right thing. Suggestions? Any way to insert code that will achieve this directly into the code editing section of a specific page? Any ideas are very very much appreciated!!! ??

ashiado, that’s a built-in feature of wordpress. Go to a URL like https://yourblog.com/category/photos/ if you have a category called “photos,” and you should see everything in that category.
