• My art club’s website has Malware, so we have been told. Bluehost has said we need to fix it and recommend a solutions that is different than what they said the last time. I had expected web hosting site would have protected the web site! It seems like we can purchase one of 3 Lock Safe products to run on Bluehost. I have now found security plugins like Wordfence that claim to protect sites. My Art Club does not have a lot of money as we are a small charity, so what should I do? Should I look for a web host that offer Malware protection, get Lock Safe or a plugin and why?

  • When it comes to malware you should be looking at multiple protections to ensure your website does not get infected again.

The first line of defense should be on the host’s side of things, if they offer some sort of Malware protection like Bluehost does then I would advise doing that.

The second line of defense would be a plugin aimed at security and protecting your website.

And thirdly, but most importantly if an attack or an infection of your website and database should occur, precautionary measures should be in place to save and backup any data lost in the attack.

    I hope this helps.

There are many plugins available, one like above is an example of those.
