    Hi,

some Youtube videos mention that SolidWP has no malware protection (detection & removal) – is this true or does SolidWP have malware protection and removal?

I am aware that detection and removal are 2 separate aspects, just need to know if your security suite does both.

    Thank you.

Hi @chrishechler, I’m happy to clarify.

It is true that Solid Security does not detect and remove malware. Instead, the plugin focuses on?User Security?by implementing features like 2FA, Strong Password, etc., and?Brute Force Protection?to prevent attacks from being successful (lockouts, ban users, firewall rules). Solid Security’s Site Scanner can notify you if it detects a vulnerable plugin/theme or if your site has been flagged in Google’s Safe Browsing.

I hope this answers your question, and feel free to let me know if you need help with anything!

Hey, thanks for the answer, really appreciate your clarification ??

One more thing, you mention that Solid Security’s Site Scanner can notify you if it detects a vulnerability – does Solid Security show changes between old and new files?

In Wordfence, any change in a plugin/theme or files can be opened to then see what lines are different/what has been added or removed. Is this also possible with Solid Security?

    Hi @chrishechler, you’re welcome!

If you enable the?File Change Detection?module, that is possible, but note that this feature can get noisy as it recognizes background updates (plugin/theme/WP core updates, backups, caching, etc) as file changes. So to calm the extra noise, I’d recommend excluding the folders/files that you know will regularly update and or enabling?Security Digest.

    I hope this helps!
