Wordfence says a file, ss_installhelper.php, contains malicious code, but does not provide the location of the file. It would be helpful if the plugin would display the path to the files so I would know if it is located in the WordPress core or theme or a plugin.

Did you check the root of the site (where WordPress is installed) using FTP to see if that’s where it is? Normally if it is somewhere else it gives an actual path.

I have the same notification from Wordfence and do not know where to start.
    Should I delete it?

I have gotten an alert on one of these “ss_installhelper.php” files this week. It’s in the root of my site, and I vaguely remember seeing other files with an “ss_” prefix that were created with a SimpleScripts installation on one of my other hosts.
Does this ring a bell for anyone else?

I received a alert from Wordfence as well about this file… should it be deleted?
