I am working on a new site using WordPress, and Id like to make the index page of that site a simple WP page. On the menu will be a “blog” category, and when cliking there you go to the typical blog page (so the blog page is not on the index default page of the site). So is that something possible to do, if so, who do I do it? Thanks in advance!

  • Yeah easy to do, when you know how..

Create the page in wordpress that you want to be your front page.

then go to your dashboard and go ‘Settings’ then ‘Reading’

Here’s an option called Front page displays:

Currently ‘Your latest posts’ is selected, but you can select ‘A Static Page’ and then select the page in the drop down box below!

To display your blog posts, post to a category and then point the blog link to that category url (if your not using permilinks it’ll be something like href=”/?cat=5″

    ‘5’ = your category id.

    hope this helps

Just create two regular Pages. On one, put the content you want on the front page. Leave the other blank, but give it a name like “Blog” or something. Then set the two Pages in the Reading Settings section. Done and done. Your Posts will show up on your “blog” Page.

I have my own site and the Home Page is https://versiondos.net/

I have a link to my Blog, https://versiondos.net/blog/

Is it possible to use my Blog page as the Home Page?
