I am using the Tropicala theme for my website: https://www.aurelia.nl.

I would like to keep the blog function active, but would rather have a “static” homepage. I would like to provide general information about my company on the homepage. And have the blog as a second or third page.

Can the order of pages be adjusted, so that one of the additional pages I have created becomes the home page?

Is this possible? And how should it be done?

I am having the same problem. Since the codex link being provided is no longer valid to solve this problem, can someone help me resolve this? (i.e., I created a static page and set it to be the Front Page but the blog-like features still appear on this static page.)

Thanks to anyone who can help with this!

I am using wordpress 2.7.1. What I did was to create a page in wordpress (I called it home) with the static content I needed for the front page. I then went to Settings –> Reading Settings and chose “static page” for the “front page displays” option. I chose the home page I created earlier for the front page. I then used the exclude pages plugin by Simon Wheatley to hide the “home” page I created. Simple and straight forward once you discover the plugin mentioned above ??
