• I have a submission badge on my site that requires users to upload a PDF document as evidence in order to earn it. When a user clicks on the badge under ‘Achievements’ in their own profile they can see the attached PDF.

However when they click on a badge under Achievements in another user’s profile, they cannot see the evidence that user submitted. I would very much like to have this option – is it possible?

    Thanks for the support!

Trying to determine where the user profile part is coming from. Is this with the Community Addon as well? That’s the only way I can think of that for sure has some BadgeOS integration added, through BuddyPress’ profiles.

Otherwise, I’m trying to mentally recall where we display attachments for submissions.

Yes sorry for not making that clear – this is with the Community add-on and referring to displaying on Buddypress profiles under ‘Achievements’. Is there anyway to display attachments for submissions that other users will be able to see?

    Thanks for your help.

Gotcha. Trying to make sure I have the user flow straight here.

I set up a test achievement, submission that’s auto approved.

I had a user submit an image, and went to the achievements tab from the Community Addon achievements section.

The list of achievements are there, I had 2. However, it wasn’t until I clicked on the one that is achievement based, and I went to the single achievement url that I saw anything regarding submissions.

Is this the same flow you’ve noticed for your question? Not seeing the submission until you were at the single achievement url.

If this is accurate, then this is by design at the moment. The submitted items are only viewable by the submitter and administrators. I do have https://github.com/opencredit/badgeos/issues/392 open for consideration to display them publicly to everyone, but it hasn’t been acted on thus far.

If I am not quite right with the flow described, then I’m going to need some more information for what you’re seeing and how you’re arriving there.

Thanks for your response and yes I think you have the flow correct.

Enabling other users to see submissions would be a great development as I think its part of the core thinking behind Open Badges – the transparency that comes with having to document and display evidence of the work done.

Do you happen to know if a submission badge sent to Credly would include the attached submission for other users to see?

Also, say I was interested in hiring someone to develop this feature – do you have a contact for someone on your team who could give me a quote? Thanks for your help.

I can’t recall regarding the attached submission part, as I don’t have the most experience with that integration.

Regarding the last part, I don’t directly work for Credly/LearningTimes, but do help with the support areas and am part of the development team. That said, you would be best to use https://badgeos.org/contact/ to contact the appropriate people.
