Making money from wordpress/buddypress site

Hi,

I am just wondering if there are any restrictions regarding monetizing a wordpress site.

My intentions are to use wordpress and buddypress to create an online community where I can gain money from paid subscriptions and advertisements. My end goal would be to sell the site once I reach a large amount of users.

Can anyone confirm whether this is allowed under the licencing terms and whether I will be liable to pay wordpress or buddypress a percentage of the any money gained using the software?
