Making displaying a doc from a list more accessible

    Hello,

    I have my “Document Posts” set to default to the “Preview tab” which looks great.

    I have a usability question about the file list or table view. The way I have it set up now, if you click on the document name on the table, you get a little pop-up window like this:

    Click on DOCUMENT NAME
    (pop-up window)
    ? DOCUMENT-NAME.pdf
    File Options
    Download
    Description
    Preview
    Other Versions
    Goto Post

    is it possible to just click on the document name and get right to the Document Post without having this popup window?

    I think for my users, many of whom might be older and have eyesight and dexterity issues, it would be much easier to bypass the popup window altogether and go right to the document. It would be easier on mobile also.

    Is there a setting that will help me do this? Or something I can add to my child theme?

    I know I can insert a simple link in a post or page, but there are cases where we want to display an entire folder of information (all forms related to a certain issue).

    this has been asked before and is a feature request. I hope to get to it soon but can’t give you any time frame as to when.

    One option that you can do is add a download button to the list. If you goto mDocs dashboard Options > Settings > Displayed File Information > and check “Show Download” that will display a download button.

    I do have the download button enabled and it’s also on the file list table.

    Just a suggestion, when you set up a way to view the document in preview mode directly from the document list, please test this without using your mouse to see how people who can’t use a mouse will be using it. Thanks again!
