making background still active for mouse hover

Hello,
I like the plugin a lot.
But I was wondering if it’s possible to make the background being still active/listening for mouse interaction like hover?

My site has a top menu with drop down on hover, but this doesn’t work when the pop up is active.

Is there something I can do…maybe with some custom css??
