Making a Duplicate of a WordPress Site

I am trying to duplicate a buddypress site I have created so that I can use one to test plugins, updates, etc. and the other I can let people use. I made a duplicate of the host folder in GoDaddy and set up a new subdomain and WordPress account that uses the new folder, but when I load the site the appearance is very different. This may be due to the fact that I have edited some plugins, themes, and buddypress files and those did not get copied over and I was just wondering how I can make sure that everything is exactly the same.
