Does not allow manual updates to synced field in a form or in the User Profile.

Syncfields is designed to be ‘set it and forget it’, in the sense that upon every update of a field, the synced field gets update too. So manual updates are not required, and not foreseen in a form or User profile, it doesn’t matter, it always should sync.
To allow for a scenario where someone changes database values directly, or perhaps a misbehaving plugin, we have created a manual sync modus in the backend. This is just for the administrator, but should normally not be required.
Let me know if perhaps I misunderstood your use case, and it is something I could add.
