Not fair, distracting and bloated

<p>2023-03-16<br><br>From a small and simple plugin this has been turned into an arrogant and bloated monster.<br><br>The authors seem to have never heard of customer psychology. The more you pressure people to sell, the more they resist buying.<br><br>I’ve been using Duplicator since the beginning. I can work with my eyes closed. However, in the last few updates, this is no longer the case. It took me a few tries to figure out what the “writer” was trying to say. Fortunately, I was “discovering hot water” again by running on localhost with XAMPP.<br><br>Everyone will make a backup, even my grandmother. But Recovery or Migrate from backup is a bit more difficult. Even I as an experienced user have a problem. It is no longer just a couple of clicks, as it was in the plugin, a few updates ago.<br><br>If I had trouble catching up with the updates again, I don’t know how a newbie will handle this. Probably very difficult. Anyway, this plugin was never for complete beginners and even less now.<br><br>When you activate the plugin, the menu is loaded with options that are only available in the pro version, and in the WordPress > Dashboard menu you will be greeted by the message: Welcome to Duplicator! The message remains until you deactivate the plugin.<br><br>Instead of all that why didn’t you make a sub-menu called “Free vs Pro” with a table of options. People are not illiterate, those who need a Pro will understand why they need it and will buy it. He will be eager to buy it without you imposing and shoving under his nose.<br><br>As it is, it is not Free. It’s Freemium or some kind of …ware. Everything but Free in the classic sense.<br><br>I am very sorry. This is not a nice little, intuitive and useful plugin anymore.<br><br>What about stars? I am angry and would prefer to give a 1 star rating. However, it would be unfair because this is still one of the best plugins of its kind. There is no better. That’s why, still rating 3 stars. A little over 6 months ago it would have been 5 stars. Good old times…</p>
