As a WP developer, I know how to create custom post types without even using this plugin. However, using this plugin helps me to create and manage multiple custom post types with ease and thereby condensing time-frame. I haven’t tried their extended version yet, but I’m sure it’s great since I don’t have any issues so far with the free version. I’m indeed grateful to the WDS Team for creating this useful plugin.
Moreover, within their plugin, they provide an option where we can generate the PHP code that corresponds with all the custom post types we have created. This makes it easy for us to retain the custom post types even if we decide to remove their plugin. This is achieved by simply adding that code to the functions.php file in the theme folder or by adding it to a custom plugin. I however keep the plugin active in all the projects we work on so that it becomes easy for us manage and create new custom post types when the client needs to extend their website.
