    Hello,

In light of recent Google updates and the “video outside of viewport” error I decided to bump the recipe videos to the top of my posts.

I also have this plugin named Youtube Lyte which takes a screenshot of the video and loads it as an image, and the video is only loaded if the user clicks on the image (helps tremendously with site speed).

The issue is that when I use the [wprm-recipe-video] shortcode to embed the video Youtube Lyte does not “detect” it for some reason and does not apply its magic.

And since the solution to the “video outside of viewport” is to have the videos in the first loading screen of the post my site has suffered massive pageload speed issues since.

How do I make the plugins work together?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

When you put something as video embed code we basically just output that code as is on the page. So I would expect their functionality to just work.

You’d have to check with them if they are doing something special that could explain the difference. Maybe looking for their shortcode in the post content, or something like that.

Personally I wouldn’t put the video at the very top to satisfy Google. The main metadata related item on the page that most people will be looking for is the recipe, not the video.
