Make video thumbnail play on hover

Hi,

While similar requests have been made I can’t find an answer to my question: How can I add a gallery of videos, which upon hovering over their thumbnail image start playing, ideally without audio? Either the whole video plays or a chosen preview/trailer like say on Netflix. I am using Elementor on my custom Minimalist Theme. I am somewhat familiar with CSS. The videos I will post are hosted on Vimeo.

Your support is greatly appreciated and I apologize in advance if I missed documentation on this question already.
