    Jack,

    Sorry for the delay.

    I don’t think it’s possible to change the way the document displays within the grey background, other than changing the ratio of the overall width/height to see if that adjusts things.

    To change the size and shape of the overall embed area (i.e. the grey area), it sounds like you need to ask your web designer to work on the CSS within your Theme.

    I hope this helps – apologies if I’ve misunderstood what you’re trying to do.

    I tried to change the width and height, but the pdf itself keeps having a margin on the left and right. I guess there is nothing to do about that.

    You might like to try my PDF Embedder plugin which is a bit more intelligent in terms of sizing the document within the page.
