    Hello,

    I have a candle making business and our products are extremely varied. Some items (like tapers and pillars) can be shipped but we also have many items that are fragile and should not be shipped (at least not automatically through the website and not until we speak with the customer).

    Is there a way to have some cart items be shipable but for others just have the website work as a Catalog? Perhaps the non-shipable items can be shown in the shopping cart but customers cannot automatically pay and expect those items mailed?

    Thank you for your question! Yes, you can set up your store to handle both shippable and non-shippable items. For products you don’t want to ship, just disable the shipping option, and they’ll be listed as “Local pickup.” For help setting up Local Pickup, please check out this guide.

    A simpler approach is to add a custom notice text directly in the product description or short description area, such as “For ordering this item, please contact us directly.”

    I’ve also been looking into some extensions that might help with your specific need, and I found that the Conditional Shipping and Payments extension for WooCommerce could be useful. It lets you set conditions for shipping and payment options based on product details, cart contents, and other criteria. You can check the documentation here to make sure it fits your need.
