Make site title and tagline invisible on homepage

Hi,

I’d like to have a site title and tagline for my website for SEO purposes and just so my website can have a title. That being said, I don’t want it to appear on the homepage. I have a background image that has the logo of the site title I’d like to use instead centered on the page. When I input a title and tagline though, it goes over top of this image and doesn’t look good.

Is there a way to change it so I can input a title and tagline, but not have it show up on the homepage?
