  • It’s not easy unless you can also amend the background image that’s being applied to the page.

amend as in change it ?

    tks.

It’s not that difficult if you can adjust the background image: https://appleblogz.com/wp-content/themes/think-different/images/wrapbg.jpg

@domoritz: change the width of the image and also of the sidebar correct ?

    tks.

Yes. You’d need to extend the blue area before the shaded bar. The widen your sidebar’s width in the stylesheet by the same number of pixels. So more fiddly rather than difficult.

just curious… to play around with it, can i widen the sidebar as a test and afterwards change the image is that suppose to work as well. does WP have a preview so i don’t mess up the entire blog while experimenting :]

getting there… had to turn OFF the category as pull-down ‘cuz it went over the “line” but only in Firefox, i use Safari mainly but there must be Firefox users and i want it to look good for all… anyway i can set the width of the pull-down Category widget ?

    tks.

You could clone the theme by copying its folder, change the folder name and the Theme name in style.css. That will give you a copy to play around with. The install a plugin like Theme Test Drive so you can try out different CSS edits on the cloned theme whilst the original theme still drives the public site.
