Hi – I’m really having fun with this plugin. Currently I’m trying to make a “recent comments” widget, but I can’t seem to figure out which shortcodes to use to call the comments and the comment author, date, etc. I’m finding a lot of great information reading other support threads, but haven’t been able to find this.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello,

Currently, there’s not a way to loop through recent comments and display various fields as you described. There are a few shortcodes for comments: comment list/count for current post, and input form.

So, I’ll look into improving this part of the plugin. It sounds useful to be able to pull X number of recent comments and its fields.

In the meantime, a possible solution could be to use the native widget for recent comments. Ah, that reminds me – I’ve written a [widget] shortcode for such purpose, but I haven’t included it in the plugin yet.

OK – if you can give me a day or two, I’ll see what I can do for the next update.

Yay! I know there are plugins for “better recent comments and posts”, etc, but I love being able to style things myself using your shortcodes. You rock. ??

In the latest plugin update, I added a feature to loop through comments. Please see the documentation page, under the Comment tab.

It works!! I don’t have time this morning to try out all of the parameters, but in three minutes I got something going in a widget. Next: to see if I can include post thumbnail… I’ll try that this evening! Thanks for being so willing to make this plugin do what we need!!
