questions prior to purchase regarding layout options
-
Hi, I am testing out the free Make theme, but having a hard time fine tuning the core elements. What I would like to know, is if I invest in paid Make version, would I be able to tweak/fine tune the following:
– Make Header image Fixed (which already happens, except when page is scrolled, it goes over the header image sort of, or should I say it is more like an image in the background that the main content scrolls over and it then disappears the further you scroll). I would prefer the header image Fixed, but remain once you scroll, and since the navigation menu would be there as well, once you scroll, the navigation menu & header background image (along with logo since it would also reside where header area is), would stay at top of your page, no matter how far you scroll. So that the menu is easily clicked no matter where you are on page.
– LOGO image that sits atop my header, I would like to fine tune and resize it, and have NO padding above or below it if possible. It is just giving so much extra space and pushing out my navigation menu since the logo is not at top of header.
– The navigation menu, I would like to shift where it rests & getting rid of ANY buffer/padding from below and or above. (I read the plus version has padding options, I just want to know how deep we can get with getting rid of padding for logo, and some for menu navigation.)
– fine tune footer size. Right now it is just one large block with only your infos in the free version, I haven’t added anything to it because it was already so big on its own.
– When I clicked a text link I created to an external site within a text box on my about page, while it worked, when I went back to the page, the link is now highlighted with a dotted box. Is there a way to get rid of Any type of box, line, or dotted thing around links that are clicked? Is this purely an external link thing or will this also occur if I place an internal text link to a page within my own site? Either way, I would like to remove that if possible. Maybe this isn’t a “Make” thing but a “WP” thing (I am new to both so I don’t know), but maybe you have an idea of what I could do to make it stop adding a box around text links please. ??
– Is there a way to add an arrow button that appears once you scroll the page, that once clicked you can get back to the top of the page right away? Or is that another plugin I might have to look for an upload?
– I also noticed that a Child Theme is not included in Make Plus? Is that because I can get it with the free Make theme I have and because the Plus version is just an extra added plugin you get to tweak Make theme with? If yes, then where do I find the Make Child Theme?
These are just the basic elements that I desire, I haven’t even begun to tackle anything else, as it all banks on the core design that I am putting together as my shop/site template.
So to recap:
– Header image fixed but stays at top upon scroll which also allows nav menu to stay on top of page fixed when scrolled, so that logo & header image and navigation can be seen no matter how far down the page you go. (Side note, I am not using a Top Bar, if that matters, and I am trying to design in a Boxed version layout).
– adjust all padding for header image, header, nav menu (especially if adding it to the header area), logo placement etc. More fine tuning of objects padding all around.
– text link dotted boxes. How to get rid of them?
– Where do I find the Make Child Theme at?
– How to add a transparent arrow button (bottom right of page) to allow quickly zooming back to the top of long page.
I attempted to search the forum to see if anything similar was posted, but WP makes it difficult to do that without searching the entire forums and thus, seeing items Not of Make origin.
Apologies this is so long, thank you for your time and reading and looking forward to answers. Here is my site outline so far for reference (the dotted outline around link can be found at the bottom of the About page highlighted text is pink). eyescreamjewelry.com/gallery/
