• I wonder if there is a workabout to make a private post be readable via direct link, without being registered or logged in. What I need is to email a direct link to my clients, in order to display that private post, keeping it private (not displayed in archives, or in sitemap). I checked online but nothing seems to work (there were a couple of plugins for private or password-protected posts but they are obsolete now). Thanks for your help.

    1. Look at the plugin “wp client”. It’s not free, but it’s a full customer portal solutin.

    2. You can hide pages. Noindex them with Yoast and also tell it to exclude them from the sitemap. However, obscurity is not security and you should count on them being findable.

Thank you for your reply. If you meant this plugin: wp client, I don’t think it is what I was looking for. I’d need to hide posts, without registration, not creating private area for clients. Something like what this old plugin used to do: Private url.

Hmmm… that plugin hasn’t been updated in 9 years. If you choose to use it, review the code carefully.

I know, I don’t want to use that, this is why I asked if there’s an alternative way to get the same goal. Thanks, anyway.
