• I have some posts that can’t be public until a certain deadline.
Also I have subscribers (via Jetpack) and I don’t want to push an email until it’s time.

I have been keeping posts private while I get them just right.
But I can’t see how to say “make this post public at date/time”
And I won’t always be around right on deadline (which can vary a bit)

Would I be just as safe developing my post as Public (publish july 8, 2025)
and then just changing the date closer when I am ready?

    Yup.

But why not keep them as drafts? That’s what draft status is for.

I think you’re right. Two things deterred me recently:

    (1) several articles that got deep into Public/Private without ever mentioning Draft, so I forgot about it.

    (2) not trusting myself to hit “Save Draft” instead of “Publish” out of habit

I suppose I can protect myself from #2 by setting a future publish date.

    Thanks.
