    Hello! Maybe I have completely missed it, but is it possible to make photo albums created with your plugin available to the Media Library, so that I can add them to page theme (it’s a second-hand boat sale site)? I love the automatic watermarking and resizing, plus the disable right-click features! Now, I just need access to the photos! :–) Must they be exported? Or…? Thank you very much in advance.

    If you set the status of a photo to featured it will be copied to the wp media library.

    When you change the status afterwards to something else, nothing happens; it will not be removed from the wp media library.

    Thank you for the fast response.

    I’ve set the images to “featured”, however, the images do not carry the watermark nor the disable right-click through to the images now in the WP Media library…. But maybe I’m simply doing something wrong here? The images look great in your plugin window, but do I need to generate the files for some kind of output?

    Here is a screenshot of my window. Maybe it’s something obvious I’ve missed?

    Thanks again for your help (and praying your plugin works for my needs!).

    To begin with: This plugin is not a pre-processor for the wp media library.
    The feature with the featured photos being copied to the wp lkibrary is just an extra.

    The idea is that the image with the highest resolution is transferred to the wp media. This is usually the raw ‘source’ image as you uploaded it, un-resized and not stripped from metadata.

    If you apply a watermark, you do that to the so-called ‘display’ file, the file used for general display functions not being a thumbnail.
    This enables you to undo the watermark in case you regret it at a later time, because you can re-create the display file from the source.

    The only way to get the watermark copied to the wp media libary is to not have the sourcefiles kept. A feature you can set (for future uplods) in the
    Photo albums -> Settings admin page, tab Advanced settings -> Files -> I -> Item 1.
    Since there are no sourcefiles that way, you can no more remove the watermark.
    To overcome this, you can re-upload the same photo to the same album.

    Disabling right click is not a feature of the photo but of the program that displays it, so you can not transfer that feature to the wp library, you should use a plugin that makes that possible, or display the photos by this plugin and have the featere enabled.

    On how to display albums or photos with this plugin, see the doc site https://wppa.nl/

    If you explain me more in detail what you want, i might be able to give more detailed instructions.

    Once again, thank you for the response and for the support. I appreciate it.

    Understood.

    I will send you another message shortly, outlining what I need and maybe we can work out a solution using your plugin.

    Back soon,

    Please see the screenshots of steps in the following folder;

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CrwtRTcOGQeZScuWucsEHdFmozo3RV86?usp=sharing

    The website is a portal for buying/selling used boats;

    https://boatsforsale.cy/

    Ultimately, the website will be administered by a non-technical representative of the company, specifying the following in terms of the photos on the site:

    1. Selected images need a watermark
    2. Photos should not be downloadable
    3. Photos, ideally, should be organised into folders according to the boat listing.

    Steps at the back end (please see screenshots supplied);

    Step 1 – The website WP theme includes pre-made, customisable templates for listing adverts. Clicking on “New Boat” brings up the next dialogue box;

    Step 2 – Data is entered via the WP editor. The area of interest to us is the “Media” tab, and, as you have already said, the images can be added via the Media Library of they are published as “Featured”.

    Step 3 – Once data is entered a listing is created with a unique ID. That ID would be used to name the photo folder too.

    Step 4 – The advert is created through a page template which can be edited via the theme.

    Step 5 – Clicking on the image activates the gallery popup, which can be selected via the theme in step 6.

    Step 6 – The Boat Detail tab in the themes options allows selection of lightbox type, but that’s about it in terms of customisation for this theme.

    Step 7 & 8 – this just illustrates what happens when I choose the photo swipe option.

    If I can somehow replace the theme gallery popups with your plugin that would be great, but I don’t have the technical knowledge to figure that one out.

    I think the following feature is what you need:

    WPPA works with shortcodes to display akbums or photos.

    The following shortcode creates an album with the name equal to the post title (if does not already exists) and displays the thumbnails in it:

    [wppa type="thumbs" album="#posttitle"]

    The owner of the album is set to the creator of the post, so when you enable frontend uploads, (and a few other settings: to show the upload link even on an empty thumbnail area) the creator of the post can upload photos to it at the frontend. Depending on the link settings, the user can start a slideshow or a lightbox display/slideshow.

    Other shortcodes, e.g. to display the cover of the album are also possible:

    [wppa type="cover" album="#posttitle"]

    A cover cal also have upload links and dsiplay links for thumbnails or slideshow.

    The shortcodes should be entered as plain text; if you gave to edit a php template the syntax is :

    do_shortcode('[wppa type="cover" album="#posttitle"]');

    etc.

    Thank you for the reply. Your solution feels like it has great potential, however it will take some thought (and experimentation) as to where those shortcodes can be pasted, so that they appear in the gallery space. Unfortunately, the theme’s listing button does not generate “posts” per se, so I’m hunting around for the theme’s template/listing generator.

    Many thanks for your help. I’ll let you know if I find the way. ??
