Make hompage only show part of the blog post

To display an excerpt on the blog page instead of the full post in Dusk to Dawn, you’ll first need to set up a child theme, so your tweaks won’t be overwritten when updating the theme. Here are some guides in case you haven’t made one before:

Make a copy of content.php and place it in your child theme folder.

Change line 41 in your child theme’s content.php from this:

<?php the_content( __( 'Continue reading <span class="meta-nav">&rarr;</span>', 'dusktodawn' ) ); ?>

to this:

<?php the_excerpt( __( 'Continue reading <span class="meta-nav">&rarr;</span>', 'dusktodawn' ) ); ?>
