• I am trying to help a friend of mine get her website up and running but I am struggling to understand how to make the header on the front page the same as a normal page.php header. We like how it looks on all pages but the front page it is cropped differently and doesn’t look as high resolution. Ideally I was trying to diagnose where the CSS for the page.php header lies and just copy it to my frontpage information but that just messed things up more. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. It seems the header is overly complicated in this theme compared to previous years. Not sure why that is but more customization would be nice.

This is my take on the problem and although I could be wrong, I think it’s still worth writing about.

There is a good reason why this particular design change isn’t answered in full. This is a difficult problem for us to resolve and we don’t have much spare time to invest in support topics. We are volunteering our spare time to help.

You are changing the design of the theme that was not intended to be changed and in the case of the Twenty Seventeen theme the technical barriers are more complicated than standard themes. Specifically, these barriers are introduced through JavaScript and CSS on top of the standard HTML and PHP changes.

I agree the theme shouldn’t be this complicated to change and I am keen to address these problems in the new development of the 2018 theme.

If this change is imperative to your website, I think the most realistic solution is hiring someone to carry this out.

I dont’t know if I understand you right. You want that all pages has the same header? If so, maybe look at my page if this is that you want: https://hercogdesign.eu

lara09, could you explain how you achieved this result? I’ve been trying to increase my header size for all other pages to match the homepage but am having no luck with css. Thanks in advance.
