Make fewer HTTP requests Mesocolumn

    I am trying to increase the speed of my website. I analyzed my website in gtmetrix. yslow scores is 67%. There is a recommendation with high priority to make fewer HTTP requests. I do not understand what it means. Is there a way to combine files and css sprites?

    I uploaded w3 total cache plugin. Its css and js minify functions help to make fewer http requests. Automatic minifying increases yslow and page speed scores.
