Make “excerpt” text shorter

  • Hey, I’m quite new to wordpress in general but I think I’m going fine for now. I’ve been building an internal website for my school and thus I can’t show it to you.
    I’ve been using Elementor plugin on it and I have been prety happy with it but it messes up with the preview message of my Posts because it adds code.
    I’ve then decided to add the excerpt to the posts as a workaround to that problem but it now does not stop meaning if I add a 200 line text to the excerpt it will add it all.

    My question is: is there a way of keep using excerpt but make it cut after a while like it does if I don’t add 1 manually?
