Make Blog my Hompage

I have an existing blog on a site, and I’m going to combine the site to fit within the blog. How do I make my blog which is currently located at https://www.example.com/blog change over to https://www.example.com

I went into Options already and switched the Wordrpress URL and Blog URL to https://www.example.com and all it did was completly mess up my blog.

Am I missing something?
