  • RunPHP doesn’t add a link to the tiny tools.
And it can’t be used with the rich text (tinymce) editor.

It’s supposed to add a checkbox under the text area where you post that you check when you’re wanting to run a php function. That post/page cannot be written using the rich text editor, and you need to turn it off by going to the options tab whenever you’re going to use it.

You can use the tinymce editor when NOT using the RunPHP function however…

That said, I’m not sure where you installed it – and you may have damaged the tinymce files… my suggestion would be to remove it from the server (wherever you put it) and reupload just the tinymce folder and see if that works.

well i don’t know what happened because like I said I removed runPHP and now i don’t have quicktags or the tinyMCE. i’ll delete tiny and reinstall hope that works but that still don’t explain why quicktags is gone also.

i deleted the tinymce folder and reuploaded it but it’s doesn’t look or function the same. it looks more like quicktags instead of the graphical interface. and it’s not a wysiwyg. something really went wrong

psypha – check under options->writing and make sure you have “users should use rich text editor by default” checked, and then go under your user page and make sure you have the box checked all the way at the bottom that says something about using the rich text editor as well…

both of those are checked. i don’t know what happened maybe the post.php page got screwed up? when i do that the wysiwyg still don’t appear. the only difference between the two is that when i turn it off the adsense deluxe drop down menu appears

Try deleting and then reuploading the contents of the wp-admin and wp-includes folders, as well as all of the files in the root install folder.

    ACK! Backup first!

Good to know, because I use RunPHP…. I just hadn’t even tried the TinyMCE yet, didn’t think I would want that so I turned it off from the start. However I might have other authors & editors posting, who might have TinyMCE turned on – I need to test and see what happens to them.

Ouch!!! I see a major catastrophe here. Why me? What files are effected by the install or database i’d rather not touch those at all

Nobody said to install. And don’t even try it! Just replace the files – as vkaryl said.

viewing the source for both (on/off) this does appear <script type=”text/javascript” src=”../wp-includes/js/tinymce/tiny_mce_gzip.php?ver=20051211″></script>

the problem this file does not exist in that directory

    Psypha

    hello everybody
I reopen this topic because I encountered the same problem. In my case, the problem seemed to have been produced by me installing Dean’s FCKEditor For WordPress; I just wanted to try it to see the differences. However, after deactivating it I noticed that tinyMCE doesn’t work anymore (same like in Psypha’s case). I reuploaded the wp-admin and wp-includes files – same problem. Actually I just updated from 2.1 to 2.1.1 following the instructions (deleted all files except wp-content and so, uploaded the new files, run the upgrade etc) and, to my surprise, tinyMCE still doesn’t work.. I miss it because Anarchy Media Player, for example, works only with tinyMCE.
    Anything I can do/check/etc?
    Thanks a lot.

I also see this problem but only intermittently. I also get a java scipt error that “tinyMCE is not defined”. Any help on what causes this to break?

Ahhh… I figured out what MY problem was. I had a plugin that was adding a new line in EVERY php resource request… this was breaking the tiny_mce_gzip.php code and resulting in no JS being returned when the browser loaded the page.

Tough little bugger to track down!
