I’ve been having this problem for the last few months. We’re not a big website at all and on “busy days we get “Error establishing a database connection” pretty regularly and it wont let me onto the front or backend. In the last two days it hasn’t gone away at all and my host has been very little help, except to tell me I’ve used my MySQL quota for the hour. Additionally, now I’m getting “User sd26q6w already has more than ‘max_user_connections’ active connections” at testdb.php. I’ve deactivated all my plugins by renaming them in /wp-content/ but I really don’t know where to begin or how to figure out what is taking such a large tole on my MySQL queries.

    Any suggestions?

    MySQL quota for the hour

This issue is related to your web host setting the quota. What is that quota and what is your website?

The quota is 75000 but it’s a small site and I have no way of finding out if thats just straight traffic or something I can fix.

Please include the time period this quota applies to. In the meanwhile I shall run a few tests on the site.

Currently the site is down and Sucuri ‘thinks’ it may be hacked – but often they report such only when a host is blocking a site. See:

Are you user “sd26q6w” and have you considered that the local machine (computer) you are using to admin your website could itself be compromised?

What would make it say that? I have no reason to believe its anything beside MySQL query issues.

Is there any way to tell what is using so many of of allotted queries?
