Hello, Since I updated my ALOSEO Lite version, it is causing a major issue with my redirection plugin “Simple 301 Redirects”

Both plugins used to work perfectly together, but since I updated AIOSEO (I had not updated in a while,) and even though I do not subscribe to AIOSEO redirection plan, AIOSEO is now causing a conflict with Simple 301 Redirects. This is a major issues causing load to soar leading server to crashes.

I had to deactivate Simple 301 Redirects and I really need that running.

I do not plan up paying for AIOSEO redirection service and wish to stick with Simple 301 Redirects, so can you please correct this conflict? It has caused me huge issues and over a month to track down by developer and managed hosting team.

    Hi @thecount,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Could you send us additional information by sending us any PHP errors related to AIOSEO in the server error logs?

You can find the errors by enabling ‘WP_DEBUG’ in your ‘wp-config.php’ file. After you’ve enabled it, re-create the issue to log the related errors in the ‘debug.log’ file, and then send us any AIOSEO errors in the ‘debug.log’ file.

You can find more details in this article: How to Enable Debugging in WordPress- https://aioseo.com/docs/how-to-enable-debugging-in-wordpress/.

You can also check with your web host to see if there’s a related error in your server error logs that we can investigate.

I tried replicating the issue on my local testing site using the “Simple 301 Redirects” plugin, but I couldn’t find it.

So if you can also provide a screencast (you can use loom to share) of the steps you’re following then that would really help us reproduce the issue. Please keep the browser console tab open while recording the issue.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks!

OK thank you I have enabled logging as suggested.

Anecdotally speaking, when I had AIOSEO running and I enabled Simple 301 Redirects, load would rather quickly shoot through the roof. I tested and experienced this multiple times. As I stated, several times this lead to server crash.

In effort to further investigate, I disabled AIOSEO and installed Rank Math plugin and reengaged Simple 301 Redirects – Thus far, I am no longer seeing load anomaly.

Maybe the issue is with Simple 301 Redirects and how it works with AIOSEO and not the other way around? That said, it does seem to work as expected with Rank Math. On that note, I am going to test/ evaluate Rank Math for a while to see if I like it.

In the meantime, feel free to hit me back with any thoughts. At this point I am just happy issue seems to finally be mitigated.

    Thanks for following up, @thecount!

We’ve tested here and don’t see any load issues, and no one else has reported anything similar. It could be a combination of plugins rather than All in One SEO.

If you decide to return to All in One SEO and face the problem again, we’ll gladly assist you in troubleshooting it. I’m closing this thread for the time being.

    Thanks.
