Major Install error

  • Hi,
    I have tried almost every thing to get this upgrade install to work, but i keep getting this error message.

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare validate_username() (previously declared in /home/……./public_html/functions/validate_funct.php:1097) in /home/……./public_html/blog/wp-includes/registration.php on line 49

    Any help would be great.

    Are you using a non-wordpress authentication method?

    Whatever the file public_html/functions/validate_funct.php is, its causing a function conflict with WordPress, AFAIK, it’ll need to be updated to support the new authentication methods used by WordPress 2.5

    Hi, and thanks for getting back to me. I had this problem the lasttime that I upgraded, and I actually managed to get 2.5 working, but I could not get it to put back my past posts, so silly me I thought may be I should try to reinstall it. So here we are, problems with new install.

    Does anyone else have shuch a problem, or a fix for this.

    Hi, i am pulling my hair out with this one. I still can not get this installed and can not go back to v2.3.3. the error message does not make sense.

    i had it working ish, but it did not load the past blogs.

    Please please help
