maito links not working

  • okok so yes i know how to form a mailto link
    email user

    this is how i am putting git into my wordpress but for some reason every time i do this:
    1) my post does not publish and
    2) it goes to a 406 – not acceptable resource cannot be displayed error

    fyi i am using a version of wordpress i downloaded and installed today … plain vanilla no plugins, no themes except defaultand running wp version 2.0.1

    any help appreciated!!!!!

    never got a reply (you’ll see they are all me talking to myself)
    but the offending problem turned out to be some bad characters (though everything “looked” OK. I litterly went line by line through the post to find it. It’s possible it’s not the mailto link, but some other quirkly character issue.

    I tried to contact my host about it, as it seems to really be on the server side of things and not WP, but they weren’t quite helpful. You may want to try contacting yours, if the problem persists.
