• I use MainWP to assist with managing several websites (some mine, some client) and I’ve noticed that BackUpWordPress automatically excludes the MainWP Child class for integrating with UpdraftPlus.

The default path to the excluded file is
    /wp-content/plugins/mainwp-child/class/class-mainwp-child-updraft-plus-backups.php

I’ve verified the file doesn’t get added to archives and the issue isn’t limited to any particular site. The consequence for the exclusion is, if a backup is used without ensuring the excluded file is present, the restored site doesn’t load (technically a MainWP problem, but true).

I’d understand if this is considered low priority – and I can work around it, knowing the problem – but felt a heads up might be useful. ??

I’m sorry I missed this previously and didn’t respond. ??

I imagine this is being caught up in one of our exclusions for either “backups” or “updraft-plus” because it’s matching the name instead of the full file path. We have an outstanding issue already to try and work on a new way to set up exclusions so we can match it against the full pathname instead of a filename – I’ll add this to that issue and see if we can’t try to work toward a solution in the new year.

Sorry again about that delay! Have a great holiday season and I’ll try to check in when we have anything new regarding this issue, okay?

No worries about the delay. I hope your holidays go well too.
